Crossroads of The West
Being the least populated county in the least populated state comes with some unique issues.  Major travel routes arrive in our county.  We see travel from Metro Denver to Rapid City and the sacred Black Hills.  We see travel into Nebraska, Old Ft. Robinson, and beyond.  More people travel through because we have good roads with higher speed limits than the Heartland Express.  We ask that you slowdown, stop to visit our local business.

Our Patrol Division has three full-time Deputies who, along with the Sheriff and Under-Sheriff, are out and patrol seven days per week.  We work closely with the Wyoming Highway Patrol Division M Troopers, Municipal Lusk Police Department, and Wyoming Game & Fish. Our community has the only female prison in the State of Wyoming, WWC – Wyoming Women’s Center.

Niobrara County Sheriff Deputies patrol all of Niobrara County.  If you see a concern or want us to know about an issue, please call our dispatch at (307) 334-2240.
